Job summary
Previous experience of working within an NHS environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. We are looking for a caring & compassionate individual with a passion for making a real difference to people's lives in the local community. As the receptionist you are their first port of call & to represent the trust and their values. It is the responsibility of each receptionist to assist in the smooth running of the Hospital in general and the reception area. Duties will include switchboard .Dealing with visitors to the Site, and general reception duties.
A professional and sensitive manner is required as the post holder will be liaising with patients daily requiring courtesy, discretion, & confidentiality always, to project a positive, efficient, friendly image to our patients and other professionals who may contact us either in person or via the telephone always ensuring continuity of service.
The successful applicant should be friendly, welcoming, good communication skills, literacy, numeracy, IT skills, good organisational skills & able to work accurately & methodically as part of a team or on your own.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include but not limited to taking telephone enquiries and directing them to the relevant departments, ensuring all visitors are welcomed and signposted accordingly, meeting/clinic room bookings, incoming & outgoing post, reporting of estates/building issues, general administration work. Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Microsoft Excel is essential.
