Job summary
Alton Community Hospital are looking for Healthcare Support Workers to join our highly skilled multi-disciplinary team to deliver the best services possible to the community of Alton.
Alton Community Hospital consists of two inpatient Wards; Anstey Ward & Inwood Ward - both provide exciting new opportunities and forward-thinking models of rehabilitation and reablement, consisting of multi-disciplinary teams including; doctors, a consultant practitioner, nurses, physiotherapists & occupational therapists.
The hospital has close links with the community, and we take direct admissions from home, step down admissions from acute hospitals and provide end of life care to the locality.
In addition to rehabilitation, Alton Community Hospital is looking to expand provision of services to prevent acute hospital admissions.
We are committed to support the development of your career and have a competency-based approach to clinical training and development which will ensure you are able to apply your newly developed skills in a safe and effective way.
Free on-site parking is available, and the hospital has excellent public transport links by bus and train. There is an expectation to contribute to the provision of a 24-hour, seven-day inpatient service.
Main duties of the job
Work as part of the multidisciplinary team.
Provide planned personal and rehabilitation care for patients under the direction of a registered nurse.
Report on patients condition to registered nursing staff.
Assist the registered nurse in the assessment of patients care needs.
