Consultant Radiologist
Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust
This job is now closed
Job summary
We are looking to appoint an additional Consultant Radiologist to join our established team of 4 full-time and 2 part-time Radiologists. The successful applicant would ideally be a General Radiologist who reports cross-sectional Head and Neck/Neuro/Abdominal/Chest/MSK imaging (including Oncology work and Prostate MRI) and GI fluoroscopy. They should ideally bring a new skill to the department such as Liver MRI/ MRCP/Gynae MRI reporting. All DCCs will be reporting sessions. We offer CT Colonography on-site and have also established Multiparametric Prostate MRI and Small Bowel MRI Enterography services. Recently, a Cardiac CT service has been initiated.
We have recently expanded our practice at Lymington New Forest Hospital, which has now been designated as one of the Community Diagnostic Hubs. We have an extremely varied caseload which can cater to most subspecialty interests and there is a large overlap with tertiary level work from neighbouring hospitals. We are a unique department in that we are based in a community Hospital, but with the imaging resources of a small DGH. This lends itself to a dynamic forward-thinking way of working. Some 66,000 Radiological examinations are currently undertaken per year. In addition, the post holders will provide support to the inpatient and outpatient medical and surgical services with access to MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, DXA and plain x-rays.
