Job summary

Location: Fareham Community Hospital though other SHFT bases considered.

We are seeking a Band 3 Continence Advisor who would be interested in embarking on a new challenge working within our team. Our service runs Monday -- Friday to meet our service users' needs.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Continence Team of Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. If this area of specialty is new to you, don't let this deter you, we are able to provide you with further training specific to continence and support advanced level practice where appropriate.

You would need the ability to work unsupervised, to prioritise your workload, have excellent communication skills and an interest and enthusiasm to promote continence.

Main duties of the job

This post is part of a County Wide Service, and your base would be at a SHFT location closest to your home, but will need to travel to other parts of the Trust as required for patient visits, clinics, training, and meetings etc. The Specialist Continence Service has two admin bases at Fareham Community Hospital and Parklands House in Basingstoke. The team also has virtual clinics which can be run either working from home or one of the admin hubs.

Working under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Specialist -- Continence, you will be expected to deliver high standards of continence care within residential homes, patients own homes and clinics, using evidence-based practice to manage the patient within the scope of your role. In addition to assisting the Clinical Nurse Specialist / Continence Nurse Advisor where appropriate.

With the use of evidence-based practice you will assess, plan, and implement high standards of care to all patients 18 years and older in both a clinic and home environment, via video appointment or face to face.
