We are now seeking to appoint motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking band 5 Staff Nurses at, Ashford Unit, who are passionate about providing the best care to our patients to complement our existing team.
The Ashford Unit is a low secure inpatient service for adults with learning disabilities. The goal of our service is to promote service user independence. We do this by working closely with them, supporting them to develop the skills they need to achieve their aspirations.
The Ashford Unit provides service users with intensive support in a secure environment. We help people with learning disabilities that also have a mental illness, such as a personality disorder, or challenging behaviour. The Ashford Unit is the only NHS run service of its kind in Hampshire.
We understand that in order to maximise the quality of care we provide we must invest in the development of our staff. To support this development we provide a robust and supportive induction programme for all new staff. In addition, our service is highly committed to ensuring that staff have access to regular clinical supervision as well as, group reflective practice and a number of training opportunities to ensure continuing professional development.
Main duties of the job
To contribute where required to the provision of a 24 hour, seven day a week In-patient based service, across an acute care pathway.
Under the supervision of the Clinical Ward Manager and Charge Nurses, you are required to work according to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines. You will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. Develop, implement and evaluate care plans in conjunction with service users, carers and other professionals ensuring individual needs are met. To carry out all relevant forms of care and will be designated to take charge of a ward in the absence of a charge nurse.
