Would you like to join an award-winning team for Mental Health Innovation?
Would you like access to our Academy of clinical excellence (ACE) our new career and development pathway to help you get your career on track?
We are currently recruiting for full and part time Mental Health trained Registered Mental Health Nurses/Social Workers to join our award winning and friendly team, to work both on the 111 Mental Health Triage Service and on the MHRRV on a rotation.
The 111 Mental Health Triage Service launched in 2018 and has been recognised nationally for making a positive difference and improving outcomes for patients. The service continues to expand and is being replicated across the country. The Mental Health Rapid Response Vehicle (MHRRV) compliments the triage service by providing a face-to-face support option.
The service is accessed when patients ring 111, they will firstly be triaged by a call handler that will determine their needs. If the person has mental health needs, they will be placed into the mental health queue whereby a mental health practitioner from our team will research any history, before calling the patient back to provide a holistic triage and signposting.
Main duties of the job
The MHRRV covers the Hampshire area including Southampton and Portsmouth. Southern Health Foundation Trust provide the nurse and South-Central Ambulance Service provide the paramedic. The role also involves working closely with other Healthcare Professionals and Hampshire Police.
The Mental Health Rapid Response Vehicle is dispatched in the same way an ambulance is, however, the Mental Health Practitioner will have the patient's details and be able to access their history and crisis plans to deliver consistent and guided support. Working alongside a paramedic the patient will be assessed to provide the most suitable intervention.
Both services support all ages and can provide a wide range of assistance that can include listening, reassurance, brief psychological interventions as well as referral to primary and secondary services.
The service operates across a 24hr period which involves working a rotational shift pattern and can offer flexible working.
