Job summary

The Southern Health MSK service is advertising Band 6 MSK Physiotherapy post within our Romsey and Eastleigh locality. Full time and part time applications are welcomed. The large MSK service across Southern Health takes pride in delivering high quality care and rehabilitation in the community. As a team member you will have access to regular clinical supervision, access to funding through our ACE academy and support on your journey towards advanced practice. The team works out of Romsey Hospital and The Hub in Eastleigh. It forms part of a much larger MSK service that is Hampshire wide. Working closely with primary and secondary care colleagues, the team works to serve the local community in and around the Romsey and Eastleigh locality. Referrals are received directly from GPs and Orthopaedic Consultants as well as self-referrals from patients and Southern Health staff.

Alongside a varied MSK caseload, the successful applicant will have opportunities for leadership responsibility of band 5 staff and students. The service is committed to supporting those staff that wish to work towards advanced practice accreditation and there will be ample opportunity to build and develop their portfolio against each of the four pillars.

Main duties of the job

a)Undertakes highly skilled musculoskeletal assessment of patients including those with highly complex presentations and from this formulates a diagnosis and treatment plan which is carried out as an autonomous practitioner.

b)Takes a role in the supervision, teaching and appraisal of senior, junior and rehabilitation assistants, physiotherapy students and other members of the multi disciplinary team.

c)Deputises for Team Leader as required.

d)Active involvement in service development for the department, Trust and profession.

e)Complete tasks assigned/delegated by team lead in a timely and professional manner.

f)Supervises, initiates and participates in evidence based projects, assists in implementing changes within designated team/area and setting and monitoring standards of practice.
