Job summary
We are looking for a passionate, and dynamic therapist to join us in providing excellent care for male and female service users with mental health illness, in our low secure forensic setting.
Forensics is such an interesting field of practice. We work collaboratively with service users, with a risk history, to help them reintegrate into the community.
As part of our team you would be working in the inpatient hospital and accessing the local community, to support service user to develop and maintain functional skills, through the use of the occupational therapy process. There are opportunities to build links with external agencies and step-down support, to enable service users to thrive within the least restrictive level of security.
As a band five you will have an opportunity to join our network of band five OT's and get regular peer support. If newly qualified, you will also join the preceptorship programme and have an opportunity to work alongside other preceptees in the Trust.

Main duties of the job
*To manage a caseload of service users with complex needs, using evidence based/client centered principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
*To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the occupational therapy services within a designated area / team.
*To regularly supervise occupational therapy assistants and occupational therapy students on practice placement.
*To develop skills and knowledge through participation in relevant training & learning opportunities.
