The Hampshire and IOW Perinatal Community Mental Health Team provides mental health support and services for women and their families during pregnancy and up to 24 months after birth. The team prioritises women with moderate to severe and complex mental health needs. The service also provides consultation for advice, information and signposting for women with a less severe mental illness in the perinatal period to primary care providers including GP's Health visitors and maternity services as well as the women themselves.
The successful post holder will be part of an innovative service providing specialist assessment, support and treatment for women and their families. The service is an early implementer site in developing a Maternity mental health service for women and has close links with IAPT services with the aim of ensuring a clear pathway for women in terms of their health and wellbeing during the antenatal and postnatal period.
Main duties of the job
The right applicant will be responsible for educating stakeholders throughout the Perinatal Pathway providing an awareness of service structure, processes, rationale and interventions. In addition to promote and train other key stakeholder role in delivery of the perinatal pathway.
Training regards red flag presentations and high-risk patients groups will also be included. This will be via mediums including but not exclusively to seminars, conferences, team meetings, student courses.
