We're looking for a budding Design and Content Assistant to join our busy Media and Communications Team in one of the largest NHS provider organisations in the country.

You'll have the enthusiasm, organisational skills and drive to provide outstanding support to a communications team, and be the lead for our busy patient publications process, managing multiple design jobs and working to very tight timescales. You'll take pride in the vital role you play and be able to manage a broad and ever shifting workload.

You'll support the team in the delivery of the Trust's media and communications strategy by creating high quality content (writing, graphics, video) for use by the wider communications team as part of communications campaigns and designing patient and staff publications.

Main duties of the job

*To manage and maintain the Trust's publication process (print and digital) - this can be up to 400 leaflets/posters/booklets per year

*To create high quality content (writing, graphics, video) for use by the wider comms team as part of communications campaigns and activity

*To support with administrative tasks as part of the wider Communications and Engagement team

*To provide an administrative function for projects and gather information and/or undertake enquiries

*To support the wider team to maintain the integrity of the public and staff websites and social media channels

*To provide communications support to the wider team

*Apply the Trust's visual identity and brand in all communications work.

*Support client services to develop a clear brief for work required, keeping them informed of progress and always providing good customer service.

*Help produce clear, accessible, understandable patient information working with relevant services and subject matter experts.

*Administer the process for approving and reviewing patient information to ensure it is up to date and meets patient needs and legal requirements.

*Liaise with external agencies or suppliers as appropriate, for example designers and printers and other production companies

*Support the Associate Director of Communications, Head of Communications and Communications Managers, within the communications department by providing administrative project support for significant corporate projects

*Establishing administrative systems for ensuring that projects and routine work are progressed in accordance with agreed timescales and monitoring project schedule, drawing any potential slippage to the attention of the lead manager

*Writing material for a range of platforms including web, social media feeds, media, internal publications, leaflets and reports

*Supporting the development of the Staff Portal and the Trust's website; managing, amending and uploading content

*Taking photographs and supporting with video production and editing

*Creating graphics for the use of the Trust's websites and social media channels

  • Good level general education, including pass grades in English and Mathematics.
  • RSA 3 or equivalent experience.
