Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated CBT therapist to join our team. This post would be suitable for a CBT therapist wishing to develop their skills in working with people with eating disorders. For applicants who might be interested, there will be the opportunity to apply for a place on the newly commissioned IAPT-SMI training course delivered by UCL in 2023/2024 (one year CBT-ED top-up training). The role can be delivered either via remote working or through a mix of onsite working and remote working.
You will provide evidence-based CBT-ED to people experiencing a wide range of eating disorders, many of whom present with comorbid mental health difficulties. The roles will involve delivering individual and group interventions, as well as some joint work with our day service staff. You will also be involved in providing consultation, training and supervision to others within and outside of the team.
You will join a supportive team of clinicians, committed to delivering high quality care and promoting recovery. You will receive regular supervision and will have the opportunity to join our reflective practice group. Within the service we offer a range of evidence-based interventions, including CBT-ED, DBT, SSCM, MANTRA and psychodynamic psychotherapy. We also work closely with families and carers and you will have the opportunity to be involved in taking this work forward.
Main duties of the job
*To undertake assessments of new referrals to the Specialist Community Eating Disorders Team.
*To provide high quality specialist psychological assessment, formulation, individual and group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy within the Community Eating Disorders Service, working within professional guidelines and the organisational structure of the Service's policies and procedures.
