An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced professional with experience of safeguarding children to join our Safeguarding Children's Team.
The Specialist Practitioner will support the Named Nurse for Children at Southport and Ormskirk to ensure that the organisation meets its statutory responsibilities to safeguard children in accordance with Working together 2018.
Main duties of the job
The post will be mostly at Ormskirk Hospital, although the successful applicant have to attend meeting at any of the Trust sites and may be required to attend external meetings.
The post holder will support staff providing an advanced level of safeguarding knowledge in complex cases, working closely with the Named Nurse for Children and the practitioners in the Children's Safeguarding team, to ensure that safeguarding concerns are identified, reported, and appropriately and proportionality responded to.
The role will provide extensive partnership working developing effective relationships with multi-agency partners, the patient, families and or carers.
In addition the post holder will use their expertise to be a source of training and supervision, developing and providing children safeguarding training. They will be required to support the Trust in achieving compliance to mandated safeguarding training.
The post holder will undertake requested safeguarding investigations and complete subsequent reports.
The post holder will undertake audit and participate in the delivery of subsequent action plans.
