6 month fixed-term contract
There is an exciting opportunities to join the Planned Care Clinical Business Unit as an Assistant Service Manager on a fixed-term basis for six months within the Head & Neck, and Skin Directorate, based at Ormskirk Hospital.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Service Manager, and/or Directorate Manager, the Assistant Service Manager will provide support to ensure effective operational delivery of the Directorates.
The post-holder will provide leadership and management to enable the clinical specialties within their portfolio to meet its agreed aims and objectives within an efficient, effective, and safe working environment. All reasonable tasks should be completed to achieve these objectives.
To manage the identified day-to-day demand and capacity processes of the specialties and liaising directly with the Service Manager and/or Directorate Manager in the planning activity to ensure the specialty is able to achieve required performance targets including, but not an exhaustive list: RTT 18 weeks, DM01 6-week diagnostic, Cancer 14/31/62 day standards etc.

The Assistant Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day clinical activity runs effectively and as efficiently as possible, highlighting variances or activity pressures to the Service Manager.
The Assistant Service Manager will provide support and assurance on performance delivery as part of the overall Directorate performance framework.
