Main duties of the job

An exciting, full time opportunity has arisen for an Application and Interface Engineer to work within the Development Team at Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust. The role will be permanent and based at Ormskirk Hospital.

About us

The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Trust's Development Team, delivering and supporting essential web applications and interfaces for clinical and administrative areas.

This is a junior role and the candidate will need to demonstrate knowledge of web programming and other general programming skills but experience is not a requirement, graduates are welcome to apply.

Someone who is keen to learn and looking for opportunities to expand on web and general programming knowledge is ideal.

  • Further Education in Health Informatics or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Health Informatics or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge of a variety of programming, mark up or scripting languages asp.net, HTML,XHTML, CSS, JSON, Ajax, Javascript.
  • Knowledge of healthcare messaging standards interfaces and interface Engines HL7 and FHIR.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft platforms IIS and Windows server.

Desirable

  • Experience developing websites in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience developing messaging interfaces in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of text manipulation using RegEx (Regular Expressions)

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Ability to apply development techniques and select appropriate methods.
  • Understanding of how to produce documentation of code and applications.
