Are you a Physiotherapist looking for a new and exciting career opportunity? We have a number of positions available to join our Band 5 Physiotherapy rotations across Southport & Ormskirk Hospitals.
Our 6 monthly rotations include:
The North West Regional Spinal Injury Centre
Paediatrics / Elective Orthopaedics
Critical Care
Orthopaedic Trauma and Rehabilitation
Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
Complex Rehabilitation
Stroke
Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Medicine & Surgery
There will also be opportunities to gain experience in the Accident and Emergency Department.
We invite applications from registered Physiotherapists, including those expected to graduate this 2022 year.
We offer all post holders a structured support and supervision framework in addition to training and CPD opportunities. Our acute rotations include a dedicated respiratory on-call training and competency programme where you will gain experience across acute, specialist and critical care areas. We also offer new graduates an enhanced 12 month Preceptorship programme. All rotational staff are encouraged to join our monthly band 5 peer support and development groups.

Main duties of the job
1. To provide a Physiotherapy service to in and out-patients of Southport & OrmskirkHospitals.2. The post holder will manage their own clinical caseload.3. To provide assistance for the Therapy and Rehabilitation Services in deliveringthe required range of therapeutic interventions and support to the client group.4. To undertake assessment, treatment and evaluation of treatment andintervention.5. To participate in audit and service development.6. To accurately record, obtain, collate, and maintain patient records both manuallyand electronically.7. To educate and train other health professionals including nurses and doctors withsupport from more senior Therapists8. To participate in the supervision of student therapists on clinical placement andfor work experience students.9. To take part in the departmental emergency on-call respiratory rota

1. To undertake therapy assessment, clinically diagnose and implement treatmentplans if appropriate in a manner that respects peoples privacy, dignity andindividuality.2. To liaise with members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team and external agencies toensure the effective management of patients care, communicating patientinformation in relation to their care as required.An integrated care organisation Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist3. To ensure effective internal and external 2-way communication with patients,carers and all other Health and Social Care Professionals regarding all aspectsof patient care.5. To take part in the departmental on-call respiratory rota excluding Joint HealthRotation6. To provide and receive complex information which requires empathy andreassurance. Communicating where there may be barriers to understanding andwhere skills such as motivational interviewing and counselling are required.7. Able to formulate and implement individualised care plans, reviewing progressand adapting as required8. To be involved in the production and evaluation of resources produced by thedepartment e.g. information and training packs, advice leaflets etc, providingspecialist advice9. To provide cover for leave and sickness to the clinical service as appropriate.10. To be a member of the multi-disciplinary team and actively participate in M.D.T.meetings.11. To contribute to the development of departmental / organisational proceduresand guidelines.12. Ensure the safe use of appropriate medical devices required to carry outtreatment in line with departmental procedures.13. To participate in shift patterns to support the delivery of 7 day service asrequired.14. To provide training sessions for other health care professionals and patient/carergroups.15. To work autonomously but recognise own limitations and when to escalateissues or refer to more senior therapist for advice and support.
