Job summary
The CAMHS directorate in North Yorkshire and York locality of TEWV is comprised of the two York Community CAMHS teams based at Lime Trees, the Selby team based at Selby Cabin, the Harrogate Team based at Dragon Parade, the Scarborough Team based at Lake House and the Northallerton Team based at North Moor House.
This post will provide input into the Harrogate part of the NY and Y service. Specifically, this service is commissioned by the North Yorkshire CCG. It has a Single Point of Access service staffed by an experienced staff team who triage and provide a telephone consultation service to families and referrers. The SPA responds to all referrals and help young people and their families with the process of navigating through the options to find a service that meets their needs. The service works with a model of brief solution focussed intervention to empower young people and their families in achieving good mental health and well-being. Staff job plans are designed to deliver services described in the TEWV Clinical Pathways, in order to provide high quality evidence based care.
This post arises from the relocation of the current post holder.
Main duties of the job
• Clinics at Dragon Parade Clinic. The post holder will be allocated a proportion of secondary schools and their feeder primary schools. The aim of this is to enable the development of close working relationships with education staff and Primary care staff in a particular area. .
• Liaison with Paediatricians based at Harrogate General Hospital and other nearby hospitals as and when appropriate.
• Advice, consultation and supervision to the team.
• Involvement in more complex cases using a co-working model, often in partnership with other agencies.

The post holder will see all presentations, requiring the input of a psychiatrist arising from the secondary schools and their feeder primary schools within the Harrogate sector. The consultant would expect to hold a WTE caseload of around 60 based on current consultant caseload and would be asked to see approximately 1 new assessment per week. The service supports a model whereby all cases are co worked with other members of the MDT, care coordinator and lead professional role usually held by a non-psychiatrist, except where there is a formal mutual agreement that sole consultant input is required with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
The Consultant joining the team will be expected to work in accordance with GMC guidance for working in multiagency and multidisciplinary teams. The Consultant will be expected to work flexibly.
The post will follow a 4.0 PA (Direct Clinical Care): 2.0 PA (Supporting Professional Activities) job plan. This will allow the post holder to develop a protected day each week to pursue additional interests such as research, medical education or leadership opportunities.
