Job summary
The CAMHS directorate in North Yorkshire and York locality of TEWV is comprised of the two York Community CAMHS teams based at Lime Trees, the Selby team based at Selby Cabin, the Harrogate Team based at Dragon Parade, the Scarborough Team based at Lake House and the Northallerton Team based at North Moor House with a peripheral clinic in Colburn.
This is a 10 PA post 6-month fixed term post providing Speciality Grade Doctor input to the Harrogate CAMHS (with consultant supervision from Dr Cirulli). This post will provide input into Harrogate part of the North Yorkshire and York service. Specifically, this service is commissioned by the North Yorkshire CCG.
It has a Single Point of Access service staffed by an experienced staff team who triage and provide a telephone consultation service to families and referrers. The SPA responds to all referrals and help young people and their families with the process of navigating through the options to find a service that meets their needs. The service works with a model of brief intervention to empower young people and their families in achieving good mental health and well-being. Staff job plans are designed to deliver services described in the TEWV Clinical Pathways, in order to provide high quality evidence-based care.
It is a fixed term post suitable for a post holder wishing to develop clinical experience within CAMHS.
The team serves the Harrogate area including
Ripon, Masham and Pateley Bridge and includes (Wetherby)
Main duties of the job
The post holder will contribute
to the teams performance objectives and, in terms of clinical work, is
expected to achieve an average of 20 direct patient contacts per week,
representing a mix of new and review appointments.
The post holder will be
responsible, alongside consultant colleagues, for delivery of mental health
services up to a young persons 18th birthday for the population of the
Harrogate area. Although we have a clinic model, there may be an occasional
requirement to perform domiciliary and community visits with the support of
other team members.
The
post holder joining the team will be expected to work in accordance with GMC
guidance for working in multiagency and multidisciplinary teams and will be
expected to work flexibly.
The post will follow a 9PA (Direct
Clinical Care): 1 PA (Supporting Professional Activities) job plan. This will
allow the post holder to develop a protected half day each week to pursue CPD
activities. Active encouragement will be given to career development within
CAMHS and duties of the postholder can be adapted over time to ensure they gain
a wide range of appropriate experiences for this.
