Community Learning Disability Registered Nurse

Job summary

ALD North Tees Community Team provides services across both Stockton and Hartlepool with a base in each locality and is made up, Nursing, Psychiatry, Psychology and AHP's (including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy) staff.

The team work collectively and collaboratively with others to ensure a high standard of care is provided and are always willing to go above and beyond what is expected when required.

The team, work in partnership with key partners to ensure people with a diagnosed learning disability and their families and carer and supported by delivering high quality clinical care.

The service operatives 7 days a week, with cover from 8am to 8pm, with the expectation that post holder will take part in weekend rota.

Main duties of the job

Student Nurse's that are due to register in the next 3 months are very welcome to apply. Full training and Preceptorship programme will be provided to help you build confidence and develop your career in this specialist area.

The successful candidate will hold and manage a case load, working collaboratively with service users, their families, carers and partner agencies.

The post holder will require excellent communication skills and be calm, confident and resilient in your approach, and will need to be able to form therapeutic relationships. The post holder should be flexible, adaptable and be able to travel independently during the course of their duties.
