Job summary
We are seeking to appoint a part time enthusiastic Band 8a Psychologist to provide a psychology service within the Child in Our Care Service in Stockton CAMHS. This is a 12 month post covering maternity leave. The role will involve working with young people within the care system, providing consultation and psychological input to their carers, social workers and the wider systems. The successful candidate will be under the support and guidance of the Consultant Psychologist within Stockton CAMHS Getting More Help Team.
Experience of working with young people and families is important, the individual would be required to bring tenacity and excellent multi-agency working skills to join an existing specialist team that works closely with partner organisations. Candidates should have a solid understanding of complex trauma, be qualified in at least one governed psychological therapy and ideally have prior experience working with children in care and or those who have experienced developmental trauma. They will work directly with young people who present with complex needs and associated risks to enable a psychologically informed approach and promote Trauma informed care.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide highly specialist psychological assessments, formulation and therapies with individuals, families and teams as part of an MDT approach, according to evidence-based pathways of care and in line with the Trust's commitment to partnership working with families and carers. The role includes direct clinical work, providing consultation, training, and clinical supervision to other team members.
As a senior member of the team, the post holder will be expected to demonstrate good leadership skills in supporting MDT colleagues to work psychologically and use person-centred principles. The post holder will be a key member of a compassionate, collective leadership team within the Stockton CAMHs Child in Our Care Service.
