Job summary

We are excited to offer a full time band 5-6 development post in North Yorkshire, York and Selby CAMHS Crisis service.

We are looking to appoint a NMC registered nurse to work as a CAMHS Crisis Clinician. The team are in a position to support a band 5 clinician through their competencies to allow them to develop the knowledge and skills of a band 6. If all competencies are completed the applicant will receive a permanent band 6 position within the team.

This post is only open to those candidates who already have their NMC registration in place and have successfully completed the preceptorship programme.Please note: Newly qualified applicants or those due to qualify will be recruited via a separate process.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate nursing staff to join our locality-wide team. This role involves providing rapid assessment, intervention, and support to children and young people experiencing acute mental health crisis. You will work collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency partners to ensure timely, safe, and effective care. Main duties of the job

Within the team we have a very varied workload, which means that every day will bring new and exciting opportunities for you to develop your skills. In order to support you in your development we will use regular appraisal and talent management, to identify your interests and development opportunities. As a team we will support you with both formal training and continuing professional development opportunities.

The team operates a 24/7 service including bank holidays and weekends. The team currently covered the North Yorkshire, York and Selby locality and runs as locality wide team. The successful candidate will be able to work at our 3 bases - Foss Park Hospital York, Cross Lane Scarborough and The Orchards Ripon.

  • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD (RNSC - CAMHS only )
  • To be recognised practice assessor / mentor or work towards in an agreed timescale
  • Trained Clinical Supervisor (within 6 month probationary period)
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Experience

  • Working with people with mental ill health / learning disabilities
  • Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team

Knowledge
