Would you like to be instrumental in managing and developing an established prison mental health team within the H&J service in HMP Haverigg? This is an exciting opportunity to join the Mental Health Team in HMP Haverigg as a Mental Health Team Manager.
HMP Haverigg is a CAT D prison, working pre-dominantly with sex-offenders. The prison has just received excellent outcomes from both the HMIP, and the CQC. The mental health team is well-established, offers a variety of interventions to the client group, including Trauma therapy, EMDR, groupwork. We are innovative, compassionate and supportive of each other, working for a great team, in a wonderful part of the country.
The team manager will be expected to lead by example, providing strong leadership while being accessible to staff. They will be flexible in their approach to managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the service
We are looking for either a clinical or non-clinical Team Manager to join our expanding service. If you do not hold a professional qualification then you will require substantial experience of working in either a healthcare or criminal justice setting with leadership experience.
Main duties of the job
Team managers will work in partnership with other healthcare providers, HMPPS, internal and external Health and Justice services within the region TEWV footprint. They will have excellent skills in communication, engagement, collaboration and have experience of working in mental health services, preferably with knowledge of the criminal justice system.

Operational management of a Mental Health Team, including accountability for ensuring the highest professional standards and attitudes towards the care of patients are maintained and delivered at all times in accordance with evidence-based practice, while supporting staff development and well-being.
The successful candidate will work collectively with senior clinical staff to provide a comprehensive mental health service, navigating the challenges of a prison environment.
The post holder will liaise closely with their peer group of team managers, and will also be supported by a service manager and receive supervision and professional development opportunities.
The successful candidate should have experience working in Mental Health Services.
