Job summary
We are looking for a qualified applied psychologist to develop the next stage of our exciting Low intensity, trauma focussed CBT study. The study is focussed on generating evidence and preparatory resources to support a large feasibility trial of Low-Intensity TF-CBT for children and young people.
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical expertise and guidance for the study.
To manage aspects of the study including;
- Establishing a multi-stakeholder advisory group
- Contributing to the development of the Low-Intensity TF-CBT manual together with national experts in the field, together with teaching and training materials andsupervision resources
- Supporting the running of the trial
- Data analysis (qualitative and quantitative)
- supporting the assistant psychologists in the research team
- Supporting the submission of an NUHR funding application for the next phase

- Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
- Trained in clinical supervision (within agreed timescale)
- Trained in care co-ordination (within agreed timescale)
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
- Post-graduate qualification showing evidence of supervised practice in an evidence-based psychological therapeutic model
- Registration with BPS

- Must be able to: Communicate complex and highly sensitive information effectively, to a wide range of people
- Adapt creatively the evidence base for interventions in mental health for clients with communication difficulties / learning disabilities
- Provide (within agreed timescale) effective teaching, training and clinical supervision
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake care co-ordination/lead practitioner responsibilities
