Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for aClinical Skills Senior Tutor to assist in the development of programmes of training required to meet NICE, Department of Health and Safety Management and Security Services Guidelines on the safe and effective use of positive & safe care approaches and Resus.

The postholder will be leading and monitoring the Positive & Safe Care, Basic Life Support & CPR training across Trust services. Assisting in the collaborative working enabling specialist advice, clinical guidance and support regarding Positive & Safe Care Trustwide.

The post holder will be assisting in the management of the Clinical Skills Training Team, providing effective leadership and development of Trust training priorities and embedding safe practices. Creating and maintaining the training rota on Excel for both clinical skills trainers and ensuring courses meet capacity and demand. Leading on Team meetings, supervision and appraisals.

The post holder will be required to have strong IT skills, utilising excel, ESR and CMS Training booking system.

The Clinical Skills team within TEWV deliver restrictive interventions training in line with the RRN standards, Resus training in line with the Resus Council and Moving & Handling.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa..

Main duties of the job

To ensure continued links with clinical care staff in the development of specialist intervention plans for patients, to embed the principles of positive and safe care approaches by the provision of specialist advice across various standards and guidance

To assist with the implementation of the required standards of training practice to meet registration as a General Services Association (GSA) provider and to provide GSA updates to tutors

To demonstrate a high level of professional expertise in positive and safe care training in the safe management of aggression and violence.

To be able to provide and deliver complex, sensitive or contentious information orally, in writing or electronically within a leadership role.

To promote the safe and effective restrictive intervention training and Resus training, across Trust services

To provide specialist advice, clinical guidance and support regarding restrictive interventions, to the service areas.

To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities.

To promote at all times a positive image of the People and Culture Department and the wider Trust.
