Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Middlesbrough Community Mental Health Services for a Band 3 Community Support Worker/Trainee.

The successful candidate will be part of the a provision within the new community transformation model of mental health services in Middlesbrough.

With management and clinical support from a dedicated leadership team, the successful candidate will receive regular supervision and appraisals, with a structured job plan and opportunities for progression.

Consideration will be given to those who request part time working hours.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be supported and overseen by the MDT and leadership team.

You will be working alongside the MDT and partner agencies, to achieve patient centred care that is recovery focused. The aim is to aid individuals to achieve the highest level of independence possible reflective of their situation and bring about change that is positive and improves a person's quality of life. This will also be accompanied the aim to support recovery, health, well-being and social participation.

  • Care Certificate
  • Key skills in Literacy and Numeracy level 2
  • Successful completion of Trust's full HCA Framework within 6-month probationary period
  • Trainee - Diploma in Health and Social Care level 2 must be achieved within 2 years of commencement in post
  • Care Certificate must be achieved within 12 weeks of commencement in post
  • Successful completion of the Trust's full HCA Framework, including key skills in Literacy and Numeracy level 2, within 2 years of commencement in post

Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience of working with people with mental/social health needs or learning disabilities
  • (Trainee post: no essential experience required)
