Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Band 3 Healthcare Assistants/Trainees to join our team on Birch ward, where we support patients with eating disorders.

The job role will support you to care for patients on their admission to fulfil set goals and gain support and direction from the service to best support them physically and mentally.

You will be party to supporting patients during meal times and post meal times, completing physical monitoring and gain training on aspects of the physical health training from our internal team. You will also be given the opportunity to attend various training courses to expand your overall clinical skills.

Main duties of the job

You will be given the opportunity to develop skills in physical health tasks and the monitoring of patients but will also be trained to support with delivering inventions to improve quality of life and patient care.

You will be given the opportunity to work parallel with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure each avenue of the service is offered and explored when agreed. The role requires someone who is caring, creative, enthusiastic, and motivated who wants to make a difference to people's lives.

The successful applicant will work with patients and carer/families with the support of a friendly multi-disciplinary team to deliver evidence-based intervention and high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate should have completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent. Candidates must also have Literacy and Numeracy level 2 or equivalent and must complete the Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within their probationary period (first 6 months in role).

The successful candidates who do not have the required qualifications will be expected to enrol on the Healthcare Assistant Framework which will include the acquisition of the level 2 Diploma Health and Social Care, level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent and achievement of competencies. You will have a maximum of 2 years to complete this.

If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
