We are looking for caring, compassionate, energetic and motivated individuals who are passionate about improving the lives and mental health of our young people. We receive referrals across Teesside for Children & Young People who are seeking support with their mental health and emotional wellbeing. This referral leads to contact with our clinical team who offer a triage to determine the most appropriate service.
Mission Statement:To provide a point of contact for C&YP to access a Mental Health professional who, through a meaningful conversation with understanding and reassurance, can provide experience and knowledge to reach a collaborative agreement as to where their needs can be most appropriately met.
The service can be fast paced and the ideal applicant will be extremely organized and self-motivated to provide high quality experience, clinical knowledge and signposting to Children, Young People and families to best support their needs.
To apply for this role you will have experience in mental health services and whilst having knowledge of child and adolescent mental health is desirable having the right values and attitude plus a desire to learn new skills is important. You will also have an understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act), detailed understanding of Safeguarding and Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
Main duties of the job
The CAMHS Single Point of Contact accepts referrals for children and young people up to the age of 18 across Teesside. Main responsibilities of this role include screening referral information for mental health concerns and risk and prioritising referrals based on this. Every young person with a mental health referral will be offered a telephone triage appointment where main concerns and presentation will be explored to determine where needs may be best met.
Providing advice & signposting, making onward referrals or assessing further to ensure young people and families are supported to navigate the system and receive the most appropriate support in a timely manner.
Being able to make and maintain professional working relationships across teams and agencies to support young people and their families journeys.
Understanding of the i:thrive model and all services which work and support young people and families within this.
This post requires the candidate to have good communication skills, interpersonal skills, good time management and organization skills.
