We strive and our ultimate ambition is to always be a dynamic learning disabilities service dedicated to providing exceptional inpatient assessment and treatment for individuals with learning disabilities and autism across 2 sites at Bankfields Court, Normanby, Middlesbrough and Lanchester Road Hospital, Durham.
Our services are dedicated to providing the necessary training and resources to help our staff effectively manage and support patients who may display behaviours that challenge. We understand the importance of a safe and compassionate environment for both patients and staff. Main duties of the job
We are currently looking for two Clinical Lead Nurses to work within our adult learning disability inpatient department. You will be responsible for supporting adults with a learning disability who have associated mental health needs, epilepsy or behaviors of concern, and will lead the staff nurses to deliver the highest standards of care.
We wish to recruit a highly motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic individual to assist in delivering high quality care. You will need to be able to have excellent communication skills and be a positive role model.
You will be responsible for the delivery of the clinical service by the inpatient team and will lead practice development and service development initiatives to ensure continual quality improvement.
You will support the Ward Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist in the running of the unit, supervising team members, monitoring and reporting on the team's performance, as well as maintaining a direct care role.
About us
You will be a pivotal part of working within an Inpatient Adult Learning Disability service. You will have close links with external partners, families and carers. You will work in partnership across the Durham Tees Valley and Forensics care group having close working relationships with the inpatient service.

- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months
- Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months
