Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the South Tees CAMHS Getting Help teams for an Emotional Resilience Nurses to join us. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, appropriately experienced and qualified nurse to join our developing team.

This post is being advertised to address a temporary need of 12 months however the Trust has made the commitment to offer the successful applicant a permanent contract with the Trust. In the event that the need for this post ends, a suitable alternative post will be offered at the same band. Applicants should be aware that alternatives may require some flexibility on role and/or location.

CAMHS has moved to a Thrive service model, working closely with our multi-agency partners and service providers to deliver across the model of Getting Advice, Getting Help, Getting More Help and Risk Support. Our teams are committed to developing collaborative, innovative services to improve resilience and promote good mental health and wellbeing for Children, Young People & Families.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the effective management of a community caseload of children and young people referred to the service. The South Tees Getting Help team covers the Middlesbrough & Redcar localities. The team base is currently Evergreen at Acklam Road Hospital, though this may change in the future.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, well-motivated, forward-thinking clinician to work as part of our team - working with young people with mild to moderate mental health needs. The post holder will work within the Getting Help team with the principal objectives of providing mental health assessments, therapeutic interventions (both group and individual) and liaising with other services and our partner agencies.

You will work as part of a team but will need to be confident in your own clinical decision-making skills. You will work with a range of professionals from a variety of different agencies including social care, education and a range of community sector partners.

The post holder will provide clinical and caseload management supervision and mentorship to students and junior staff working within the team. There will be the opportunity to participate in service development, audit, research activities, pathway development and ongoing training needs of the clinical teams.

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants can travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Essential

  • Significant experience working with children and young people with mental health and emotional needs in a healthcare, education or community setting.

  • To complete Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) training within 6 months of employment
