An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Community Mental Health Team based at Huntington House, Monks Cross, York to work with older people with mental health needs within the community setting. The North East Community Mental Health Team covers a broad geographical area including urban and rural areas such as York, Easingwold, Pocklington and surrounding areas.
This is an exciting new role created by NHS England and Improvement to support the transformation of adult community mental health services. The successful candidates will be based in a community mental health team and be enrolled at Hull University to undertake a certificate in mental health wellbeing practice. Attendance at university will be a hybrid of remote and on campus . The training will be fully funded by the NHS and the course lasts for 12 months. On successful completion of the course the post holder will be eligible for a full time Band 5 position as a Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner. This post may be in a different team to the team where training position was hosted.

About us
This role will contribute to ensuring adults with severe mental health problems have greater access to psychologically informed interventions.
As a Trainee Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner, you will be expected to work under supervision as part of a dynamic mental health team delivering psychologically informed interventions and supporting adults to receive the right care. You will need to have flexibility and adaptability and a passion for working with adults with severe mental health problems.
During the one-year graduate certificate or postgraduate certificate training, you will, under supervision, develop knowledge and practice skills to employ wellbeing-focused psychologically informed interventions for serious mental health problems for adults individually and in groups, as well as support their families and carers, in line with the education providers expectations.
