Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 High Intensity Therapist/Psychological Practitioner/Applied Psychologist to undertake a key clinical role in the ongoing delivery and development of the Humber and North Yorkshire Resilience Hub, supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of health, care and emergency services staff across the region.

There are multiple roles available, either on a full time or part-time basis, on either permanent or fixed term/secondment basis (12 months). Applicants wishing to apply for this role as part-time or job share should state their preferred WTE within their application.

However, for fixed term posts, if permanent funding becomes available, a permanent position may be made available to the relevant applicants. In order to apply for a secondment, applicants must have authorisation from their line manager to do so.

The Resilience Hub provides a single point of access to trauma-informed care in a timely and confidential way and seeks to not only collaborate with and signpost to excellent current resources across the Humber and North Yorkshire region, but also has the capacity to offer psychological support within the Hub.

Main duties of the job

Within this clinical role you will be responsible for the delivery of therapeutic interventions to the staff, both individually and through group interventions, accessing support from the Resilience Hub, supporting MDT working within the Resilience Hub team and working alongside providers and partners to ensure effective referral pathways for our service users.

The Resilience Hub offers a virtual staff health and wellbeing offer, that can be accessed electronically, offering digital services and a stepped care approach to trauma informed care and support with links into local services. The Hub is separate to existing local mental health services with pathways into these services as appropriate, and is accessed confidentially by all health and care staff and their families.

The successful candidates will have training and experience in delivering psychological interventions for trauma, anxiety and depression within a lifespan approach. All candidates for these roles must have the relevant professional registration.

The Resilience Hub is delivered by a collaborative partnership of mental health service providers, supported by the Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board - the providers are Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, NAVIGO and City Health Care Partnership CiC, supported by Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust and Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).

Successful candidates will be employed by/seconded to either Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust or NAViGO.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Applied Psychologist: Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
  • Psychological Therapist: RMN or equivalent mental health core qualification at degree level post 1993 & post graduate training to an accredited level in one of the Trust's Governed Psychological Therapies sufficient to meet the Trust's training standards for that therapy. OR HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • High Intensity Therapist: Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Course (Post Graduate Diploma) or other Post Graduate CBT training course. OR: A recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology, a recorded/registered qualification in one of - nursing, social work, occupational therapy plus further post graduate qualification in CBT.
  • Significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and demonstrating the competences as required.
  • High Intensity Therapist: Significant experience meeting Knowledge Skills Attitudes (as defined at BABCP.com) at a level required for BABCP accreditation.
