Job summary

Exciting opportunities have become available for band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurses or Learning Disabilities Nurses to fulfil the role of Duty Nurse Coordinator working at Roseberry Park Hospital. The successful applicants will be based at Roseberry Park Hospital supporting Adult Mental Health (including rehabilitation) and Mental Health for Older People inpatient services.

Main duties of the job

The post will require predominantly night shift working, although there will be periods of time where day shifts will be allocated. Across our services there is a need for more senior clinical leadership to be provided during the night to support clinical decision making where needed. You will be a role model for junior staff and be expected to demonstrate a high level of decision-making skills and the ability to seek collective support from colleagues where required.

  • RNMH/RNLD, current professional registration with NMC.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education.
  • Recognised sign-off mentor or willingness to work towards. Must be achieved within agreed timescale.
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Leadership or management qualification
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience as a band 5 staff nurse

Desirable

  • Experience of working on an inpatient setting

Communication

Essential

  • Hold excellent communication skills
