Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Adult Eating Disorders Community Team based at Huntington House, York
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting adults within a mental health setting/mental health community service. Those applying should have a desire to develop and enhance their current knowledge and develop skills in working with Adults who are diagnosed with or being assessed for an eating disorder (as per service criteria).The successful candidate would be part of a specialist team providing patient centered care and interventions for those accessing the service and providing support for their carer/families with a recovery focus around eating disorders. The post will allow the progression of skills and the successful candidate will receive training in delivering recognized governed therapies.
The Adult Eating Disorders team is a multi-disciplinary service which is part of a Provider Collaborative with the Eating Disorders service within York and Selby, so this is a great opportunity to be part of a developing service. The Community team works into and alongside the Community Mental Health Teams to support service users with a recognised eating disorder. It is important that as a specialist service we ensure that there is access to teaching/training in Eating Disorders, clinical and managerial supervision and personal and professional development opportunities to support the quality of care provided by colleagues in CMHT's.
Main duties of the job
This post is being advertised to address a temporary need for 12 months however the Trust has made the commitment to offer the successful applicant a permanent contract with the Trust. In the event that the need for this post ends, a suitable alternative post will be offered at the same band. Applicants should be aware that alternatives may require some flexibility on role and/or location.
This opportunity will allow the successful candidate to develop key multi agency relationships whilst being part of service improvement and redesign. The multi agency relationships include working alongside our colleagues in Primary care and CMHT's as well as supporting the physical health care of those being cared for within the service.
You will receive regular support and supervision to support your professional development. You will also offer consultation and support to colleagues in the CMHT's, as well as taking the lead on supporting service users with complex or high level needs.
