Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Specialist Nurse, full time, permanent,within the Easington Older Persons Community Mental Health Team.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with considerable community experience and/or experience working with Older persons with Mental health problems. The applicant should also hold an independent prescribing qualification or demonstrate a willingness to work towards this qualification within a specified timeframe.

This is a challenging role requiring an exceptional candidate; in return the Trust provides excellent training, supervision and coaching opportunities and has a strong focus on talent management.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants can travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be an active part of the Easington MHSOP team offering leadership and guidance to the wider team. You will be involved in all service development work within the team.

Additionally you would be responsible for the clinical supervision of Community Mental Health Nurses within the team.

A thorough understanding of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Human Rights Act will be essential to the role as these will provide the framework for all consideration.

Essential

  • RMN / RNLD/ (CAMHS Only) RSCN, current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council and
  • Postgraduate diploma in a subject relevant to the area of practice Or in the absence of postgraduate o Willingness to work towards a post grad diploma within 2 years, And the following
  • A recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification e.g Family Therapy/CBT/DBT/NMP
  • Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving.
  • Significant experience working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field.
  • Significant experience working with patients who display risk behaviours
