Job summary

Are you passionate about improving the quality of life of people with learning disabilities and reducing all forms of restrictive practice? If so, this post could be for you.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and innovative behaviour practitioner to our Learning Disability Service who is committed and passionate about providing person-centred support and involving service users, family members and carers in all aspects of service delivery.

We require a full-time behaviour practitioner who can work flexibly to meet service need and demonstrates TEWV trust values.

We are seeking applications from individuals who can demonstrate practice leadership, who are motivated, flexible, reflective and able to communicate effectively to others. An ability to be creative with a clear grasp of contemporary issues associated with the support of individuals with learning disabilities is important for this role.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience using PBS and hold (or be willing to work towards within an agreed timescale) a PBS or behaviour analysis qualification.

Main duties of the job

Co-ordinate and conduct autonomous specialist behavioural assessments for people using the service. The assessment will be based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from a variety of stakeholder sources.

Applying the principles of behaviour analysis to help understand behavioural needs and to teach new skills and improve quality-of-life.

Provide support and behavioural advice to other professionals in the service and partner agencies through consultation, supervision, and training.

Work responsively and flexibly with individuals in a variety of settings, ensuring high quality care of individuals throughout assessment, planning, evidence-based intervention, and evaluation.

Support service development associated with PBS through consultation, evaluation and monitoring of local policies and procedures.

Support a culture of person centred,values led high quality care, promoting least restrictive practice within TEWV and the wider learning disability community.
