Job summary
We have a part time vacancy for an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work within the York and Selby South Community Mental Health Team. The team is based at Worsley Court in Selby, and covers a broad geographical area.
The successful applicant will be asked to deliver specialist psychological interventions to people with complex mental health difficulties. They will be asked to provide clinical supervision to colleagues including Assistant and Trainee Psychologists, as well as other members of the clinical team. They will be a senior member of the team and be asked to contribute to the leadership of the team and the development of the service.
Main duties of the job
As part of the role, the post holder will offer supervision, advice, consultation and training to other members of the team.
Psychology is well integrated and valued in the service: clinicians make excellent use of team supervision and psychological formulation sessions. Training and service developmental opportunities would be available for the post holder in order to further develop specialist skills and interests, and research opportunities would be encouraged. There are opportunities for innovation and leadership as we look to continually improve our services
The successful candidate will be accountable for their own professional practice in the delivery of highly specialist psychological care to people with complex mental health conditions which may include challenging behaviours. They will also work with families or carers, as appropriate, as part of a wider MDT.
Clinical and managerial supervision is provided by the trust. In addtion the successful candidate would have access to other networking and development opportunities within the wider organiscation.
