The Harrogate Integrated Community Team is looking to recruit a Trainee Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding Psychological Professions group within the team.
The Team works with people with a wide range of mental health needs, varying in degree in range and intensity of need. The team works with a number of psychologically informed interventions to determine functional interventions based upon formulative assessement.
The team is based in the centre of Harrogate. The service operates the working hours 9-5 Monday to Friday. This is a full time position.
The post will involve undertaking a 2 year post graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis and Bipolar. Attendance and study time would be part of the 37.5 working hours and the course would be predominantly delivered online however there may the requirement for some infrequent travel for face-to-face teaching. This travel would be funded.
Main duties of the job
Applicants will be required to have either RMN or equivalent mental health core qualification and be registered with a professional regulatory body. They will have significant experience of delivering psychological informed interventions under supervision to people experiencing severe mental health problems in a secondary care setting. A willingness to engage in further study and practice towards eventual accreditation as a CBT therapist with specialist competences in psychosis and bipolar is essential.
The role is within a multi-disciplinary community team working under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist. The team provides a range of interventions for people experiencing first episode psychosis.
About us
The salary during the 2 year training will be Band 6 on successful completion of the post graduate diploma the post holder would be upgraded to a Band 7 Psychological Therapist role and salary. The offer of trainee post to the successful applicants will be contingent on successful application to post graduate diploma course. Successful applicants will be supported with application and selection process.
During the course of training placement outside the assigned community team but in the local geographical area may be required.
There will be no costs for further training incurred by the individual.
