Job summary

The Stanley Community Mental Health Team are a newly created team and are currently looking to expand their work force as we move towards the community mental health transformation framework.

As we are a new team we are working together collectively to develop a strong and positive team culture. We are looking for applicants to add to our positivity and new way of working and welcome anyone interested to come and meet the team and have a look around. As a collective leadership team we are focused on supporting people to progress within the team and offer a robust induction, access to supervision and an appraisal focused on talent management.

The team is integrated offering health and social care interventions to working age adults across the Stanley, Burnopfield, Langley park and Burnhope area. We welcome applicants from Mental Health Nurses (including preceptors), social workers and Occupational Therapists.

Main duties of the job

With the strong links we have with our local universities' post-grad qualifications can be supported throughout your career pathway. You will be offered a robust induction, preceptorship or ASYE supported by clinical supervision to support you during your first year in practice.

The successful applicant will work with a caseload of patients offering evidence based psychological interventions, medication administration and monitoring, working, working closely with social workers to carry out assessments under the care act.

Although this is an autonomous role the post holder will receive full support via the daily MDT meetings, supervision, and team training. As well as an appraisal to support professional development.

Essential

  • Current professional registration with an approved professional body.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • or registered nurses: MIP, FLIP, ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice or City & Guilds 730 Teaching in Adult Education or willingness to work towards. Qualification must be achieved within agreed timescale
  • Trained Clinical Supervisor (within agreed timescale).
  • Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area

Knowledge

Essential

  • Evidenced based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
  • Care Programme Approach and its application in practice
  • Understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
  • Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
  • Clinical Governance and Clinical Supervision.
  • Awareness of psychological models of care and treatment
