An exciting opportunity has arisen a Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant within our secure inpatient services at Roseberry Park Hospital working alongside our physiotherapy team. Where you will have the opportunity to work across site, working with clients with learning disabilities, mental health, autism and older people. Also working alongside colleagues in physical health and AHP's.
The service operates a model which is recovery focused and trauma informed, providing treatments and interventions which are evidence based, and which ensure that patient / service user safety remains at the centre of all that we do.
Main duties of the job
The ethos of the service is to work collaboratively with service users and carers in the completion of assessments, treatment, intervention planning and rehabilitation to enable a person-centered recovery-focused approach to care, meeting their needs in a holistic manner.
To work with delegated service users who remain the responsibility of the Registered Physiotherapist, in the secure inpatient setting in the low and medium secure wards.
You must demonstrate good verbal and written skills, be honest and trustworthy and be able to work independently on delegated tasks under the direction of qualified staff as well as under direct supervision.
You will be involved in delivering physical interventions on a 1-1 basis and educational presentations to groups of service users.

Main Duties and Responsibilities/ Clinical Responsibilities patient contact
Works with Registered Physiotherapists, preparing or helping service users to prepare for treatment and assisting in delivering therapeutic interventions designed by others.
Works with delegated service users who remain the responsibility of the Registered Physiotherapist, reporting back in a timely and appropriate manner. Service users may demonstrate behaviours that challenge or have difficult family situations of relevance.
Delivers therapeutic interventions, designed by registered staff, to groups or individuals, observing and monitoring service user progress and making adjustments to interventions (within established protocols).
Encourages service users/carers in a compassionate manner, to actively participate in their own therapy to support them in achieving their identified goals.
Provides information and practical advice, within scope of own competency, to service users and carers e.g. demonstrating exercise programmes for them to follow.
Participates in health promotion activities.
