Job summary
We are looking for outstanding applicants with a high degree of enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment to train and study to become registered Pharmacy Technicians - following completion of the PT (Integrated) Apprenticeship.
We have two posts on a 2 year fixed term contract at two of our main localities - Roseberry Park Hospital and West Park Hospital - due to start at the end of February 2024.
The apprenticeship includes on-line remote learning with Bradford College and working in the hospital covering all aspects of hospital pharmacy - working towards the Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians. You will therefore need excellent time management and communication skills and the ability to work hard to complete the underpinning knowledge modules over the two-year period.
Minimum entry requirements are
- 4 GCSEs A-C in Maths, English Language , one Science subject and one other. Level 2 Dual award Science and Level 3 Dual award Applied Science are accepted; however Level 2 Dual award Applied Science would need checking - as depending on the units undertaken it may or not be acceptable.
As part of the interview process you will be required to complete a short aptitude test.

Main duties of the job

To work under supervision to perform a range of technical duties in the dispensaries to aid in the smooth and efficient running of the department.
About us
The pharmacy team in TEWV has over 100 team members including drivers, pharmacy assistants, administration, nurses, pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. Individual team members are spread across multiple sites, with a dispensary in each of our 3 localities. The locality teams work independently, but come together to agree standards and best practice, learning from each other and trying to improve.
We developed a 5-year Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Framework which was created with the teams to produce a shared set of themes and priorities.
