Job summary
26.25 hours per week
The successful candidate will encourage and support staff within the organisation to share their problems, ideas and innovations to assess for commercial potential. They will create a culture of innovation and awareness of intellectual property (IP) in the organisation and establish processes and structures for dealing with innovation queries from within the organisation. The successful candidate will co-ordinate the innovation portfolio, ensuring key connections are made between the innovators and those people that can enable the project. They will also share best practice and encourage spread and adoption of innovations across appropriate external organisations.
Main duties of the job
The R&D department have a fixed term (20 months) opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to support the development and progression of innovations across the Trust. The successful candidate should have a passion for improving healthcare and services and have excellent communication and organisational skills to guide innovators through the innovation pathway. This will include supporting market research analysis, liaising with legal departments relating to intellectual property, arranging and supporting service user or carer involvement, working with internal and external organisations to develop prototypes.
They will support evaluations and produce case studies to share innovations ready for adoption. The successful candidate will share best practice and promote innovations at internal and external events.
