Job summary
A new and exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Clinical Practice Educator within the International Recruitment Team has become available. We are looking for a motivated and committed individual with a keen interest in teaching and the enthusiasm for the development of others.
This role is fundamental to the delivery and administration of the OSCE training programme as part of the international recruitment workstream.
The role will assist the Internationally Educated recruits both professionally and pastorally, ensuring that candidates are fit for practice to progress towards achieving the NMC registration and work as competent nurses.
We are looking for someone with leadership skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
Main duties of the job
You will take the lead on the planning, management, and delivery of the Nursing OSCE Training Programme.
You will be responsible for the delivery of both classroom and clinically based theory and simulated clinical skills OSCE training sessions.
Working collaboratively with the new international nurses in their clinical areas to support their practice as well as providing support to ward/department managers in all aspects of education, capability, and performance.
You will act as a role model, demonstrating best practice in nursing care and advising on/maintaining good clinical practice.
You will act as a key contact for the newly recruited nurses and will also offer pastoral care; signposting to other sources of support as required.
