Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within the Adult Mental Health Directorate for a Data Analyst & Research Lead for a fixed term within the IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) programme.

Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis.

In the event that permanent funding is secured for this post the successful applicant will be confirmed in post on a permanent basis.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting time for the development of IAPT services with new service models of care emerging with the Long Term plan for Mental Health.

We are seeking a talented individual with energy, drive and a high level of interpersonal skills to join the team. The post holder will undertake a range of duties to evaluate current research and develop additional research to inform the development of clinical pathways, improve patient outcomes and achieve key performance indicators.

The ability to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team is important to ensure that deadlines are met. In order to achieve this, good organisational and interpersonal skills are essential.

You will be knowledgeable of the full range of current research and analysis methods and have previous experience in research, assistant psychologist or performance management posts. Please refer to the job description and person specification for full details.

The successful candidate will be based within the service and may be asked to work at other sites within County Durham and Darlington where necessary.

About us

Within County Durham and Darlington, IAPT services are provided through Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust working in partnership with Mental Health Matters and Sunderland Counselling Service.

Thepost holder will be employed by Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys Foundation Trust.

The programme is governed by partnership board with members from the three partners. Talking Changes is led by the Clinical Lead and Service Manager.

Job responsibilities

To lead in related administration, collection of statistics, and development of tools and processes required in developing regular reporting and evaluation systems.To receive supervision from the Clinical lead and Service Manager at an appropriate level in line with professional practice guidelines.To attend meetings in which the service performance, evaluation and other service developments are planned and discussed.To undertake specific administrative duties as required.To perform other duties of a similar kind appropriate to the grade, which may be required from time to time by their Manager.

To link with the corporate information team to support new service developments and requirements in line with KPIs and national reporting requirements to ensure that the team can provide this information.To work independently according to a plan agreed with the Clinical lead and Service Manager. To provide accurate and timely reports relating to research activity associated with any plan.To be the service link for the Corporate Information team, working collaboratively to ensure all reports are complete.To lead on service requirements regarding data protection and GDPR by liaising with the Trust Service Development Lead.

  • Minimum An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology or other relevant research based degree or equivalent.
