Job summary

Are you a newly qualified nurse starting your career in mental health but also have a natural curiosity about why we do things? If so, you will be interested in some new roles working within our Ripon or Harrogate Integrated Community Team but being able to develop your research skills and progress your own ideas at the same time. Combine your curiosity with developing your clinical skills.

We have the following role:

  • Adult mental health community services: 80% clinical care delivery as part of the team roster and 20% research time through R&D at Foss Park Hospital, York (can access remotely from Harrogate base).

In relation to the community element of the roles, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mental health Nurse to join the Ripon Integrated Community Mental Health Team or Harrogate Integrated Community Team both based at Windsor House Harrogate

This post is open to those candidates who are about to received their NMC registration by September 2023 or already have their NMC registration in place. The research element is subject to having successfully completed the preceptorship programme.

Main duties of the job

To improve the lives of people with mental ill health by minimising the impact of their condition through the delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and well being.

To be compassionate in meeting the needs of patients and their carers.

To work as part of a community team which may be integrated, workingcollaboratively and in partnership with local authority services.

To be professionally accountable and responsible for patient care undertaking a range of clinical/therapeutic interventions in patients' homes and other community settings.

To promote social inclusion, community access and participation through the provision of patient care.

To facilitate others in the team to develop competence by providing leadership, day to day supervision, clinical advice and clinical supervision to associate practitioners, community support workers and students as appropriate.

To be committed to and involved in activities integral to the Trust's QualityImprovement System.

To promote at all times a positive image of people with mental ill health.

To promote at all times a positive image of the Adult Mental Health Service and the wider Trust.
