Job summary

We are looking for 2 exceptional individual's to lead the development and expansion of the community eating disorder service in North Yorkshire and the Vale of York. As part of the community mental health transformation programme, we are looking to develop and expand the support available for individuals with disordered eating and their families across 2 teams that cover North Yorkshire and the Vale of York. The successful individual's will be required to manage the existing team as well as work in partnership with colleagues from across the ICB, TEWV, the provider collaborative, primary care, higher education and the voluntary sector to develop an enhanced and expanded service that meets the needs of the population of the Vale of York.

The need for this role has been identified as part of a collaborative approach to service design and the successful candidate will be required to continue to work in partnership with people with lived experience and carers in developing and shaping the future service.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of collaborative leadership, clinical expertise within eating disorder services, an innovative approach to service development and a commitment to coproduction and partnership working.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for ensuring that the safety, privacy and dignity of all patients is maintained in the delivery of patient centred care, recognising and respecting differences including spiritual and cultural beliefs.Ensures that all staff take steps to obtain patient consent to care and treatment in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act, ensuring that patients who lack mental capacity remain at the centre of decision-making and are fully safeguarded.Ensures that all staff act, wherever applicable, in accordance with the Mental Health Act and associated policies and procedures.Responsible for ensuring that all staff recognise the potential for or signs of client harm, abuse and neglect, including poor clinical practice, report all such occurrences and take all reasonable steps to protect the client. Responsible for ensuring that all staff identify and report concerns regarding the safeguarding of children who may be at risk.Provides clinical advice and direction on complex issues to nursing staff in the team and staff from other disciplines and external organisations

Uses the techniques of the Trust's Quality Improvement System to leaddevelopment and quality improvement activity within the designated team.

Undertakes project management roles for specific areas of work.

As a member of project teams or working groups, proposes changes to service in own clinical area which may affect other services
