Job summary

The Estates Department is responsible for the repair, maintenance and management of all Building and Engineering Services within the Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Craftsperson (Plumber) to join our multi-disciplined Estates Team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be time served and have a plumbing background and will be responsible for the provision of engineering maintenance services primarily for the Trust owned buildings within the Teesside locality of the Trust.

Although primarily based at Acklam Road Hospital, Middlesbrough you may be required to work from other Trust sites for periods of time as the service dictates.

Essential

  • Successful completion of recognised plumbing apprenticeship.
  • City&Guilds 6089 Craft Certificate or NVQ3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Gas Safe Certification (within agreed timescale)
  • Numeracy and Literacy to level 2.
  • ITQ Level 2

Desirable

  • BTEC Level 3 ONC/HNC Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Gas)
  • Approved Certificate in Welding.
  • Multi-skilled engineering training

Experience

Essential

  • Significant post-apprenticeship experience in plumbing or mechanical engineering.

Desirable

  • Experience working in an NHS environment
  • Experience in the management of Planned Preventative Maintenance systems.
  • Multi-skilled engineering experience.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Working knowledge of plumbing systems within service industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing including hot and cold water services, air conditioning and ventilation equipment, drainage and rainwater systems
  • Working knowledge of Gas Safe legislation.
  • Working knowledge of Water Regulation Advisory Scheme
  • Working knowledge of HTM04 - Water Supplies.
