Job summary

Are you interested in a career in the field of eating disorders for Children and Young People Young within Community Mental Health Services? The Teesside Children and Young Peoples Community Eating Disorder Service are seeking to recruit full time CAMHS Practitioner to join our already established team.

The team is based across the Teesside area based on the Acklam Road Hospital site in Middlesbrough. Travel will be required as part of the role and expenses are included.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, motivated, experienced and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.

The team includes clinical psychologists, nurses, dietitians, and psychiatrists. Therefore, the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team is essential. The post holder will provide evidence-based assessment and treatment-based interventions as part of the clinical eating disorder pathways, and offer input to individuals, their families and carers in clinic and community settings.

Applicants should hold a professional qualification and have experience of working with children, young people and families. It is also desirable that they will have had experience of working within a mental health area.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who is able to organise their time, have good communication skills, who is keen to learn and able to meet the demands of busy team environment as the candidate will have responsibility for the effective management of a community caseload who are currently working with the Eating Disorder Team.In addition to the wide range of clinical duties the candidate will also provide clinical supervision and mentorship to students and junior staff working within the team. The post holder will support the team with service development using the Trust's quality improvement methods. There will be the opportunity to participate in service development, audit, research activities, pathway development and ongoing training needs of the clinical teams.We have regular specialty team meetings to develop skills and provide peer support. We can provide training and support to engage with the complex needs of the patient group. We work closely with other health professionals' colleagues and often deliver joint care work. We have a robust clinical and management supervision structure and support and promote continued professional training and development.
