Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Nurse (part time - 30 hours), to join our two existing highly regarded Advanced Nurse Practitioners in the Harrogate Community Mental Health Team for Older Adults.

You will be an active member of the Leadership Team, whilst clinically leading the team and supporting with service improvement and operational duties when required. This will include delivering caseload management, clinical supervision, staff development / training and advanced Nursing approaches. You will be expected to work effectively with other leadership colleagues and external stakeholders, guided by the TEWV Journey for Change whilst being supervised and supported by our Community Modern Matron.

There is an expectation that you will be a Non Medical Prescriber (or be willing to work towards within the first 6 months) and be actively involved in the assessment, formulation, and planning processes for service users with complex needs both on our functional and organic mental health pathways.

Please note, there will be a presentation as part of the interview process.

Main duties of the job

The key duties of this role include:

  • Leading, supporting and developing clinical staff
  • Being a role model and mentor to staff
  • Embedding evidence based practice within the service, including participation in the development of the local training portfolio
  • Ensuring high professional standards of nursing practice across the team
  • Providing high quality patient care for individuals living with complex mental ill health and their carers in their place or residence and clinic settings
  • Navigating the service as we adapt to the changes linked to the Community Mental Health Framework
  • Offering regular clinical, peer and caseload supervision
