Job summary

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Advanced Practitioner to a the psychologically informed service (PIPA).

From 1st April 2020 North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC) commissioned Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust to provide a multi-disciplinary team of Psychologists and Advanced Practitioners to work in an embedded way into NYCC Children and Young People's services. The service will consist of Psychologists and Advanced Practitioners and will work with vulnerable and care experienced children and young people up to the age of 21 and with their families, carers and the staff teams around them.

Main duties of the job

The PIPA team bring psychologically-informed ideas and ways of working to children's social care teams, where clinicians are highly valued in their embedded roles. There are opportunities to work creatively and flexibly to support the emotional well-being of marginalised children and young people, for whom more traditional clinic-based approaches are not always effective. The work is diverse and varied, including direct therapeutic work, consultation, teaching and training. There is access to a range of formal and informal supervision and learning opportunities for PIPA staff in relevant areas such as trauma-informed and systemic practice.

  • Excellent verbal written and communication skills which are clearly demonstrated.
  • Ability to work without supervision relevant to sphere of work.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.

  • Knowledge of services provided in locality.

  • Relevant experience within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service specialty, working as a minimum of Band 6 level
  • Sound management/supervision and organisational experience
