North Yorkshire and York Adult Learning Disability Services have a 2 year fixed contract or a secondment opportunity for a Clinical Service Lead for Behaviours that Challenge/Positive Behavioural Support.

We are looking to appoint an individual who has or is working towards a Master's Level Qualification in PBS or ABA alongside their core professional qualification. This practitioner will have extensive practice experience at a senior level and be skilled at developing and supporting colleagues. They will work across the NY&YALD with some consultative work with the localities service users in inpatient settings.
Supervision and support will be available from the current post holder or the Positive and Safe Nurse Consultant for the trust.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities / Patient Contact
To provide skilled leadership to professionals and direct care staff working with people who have learning disabilities and additional health problems associated with mental health and complex behavioural needs in order to secure and assure the highest standards of clinical care.
To oversee clinical activity within the Learning Disability Intensive Support Team (LDIST) within NY&Y to ensure equity of service.
To support and advise the LDIST and CLDT's in achieving good health outcomes for people who have learning disabilities and complex needs and reduce the need for hospital admission and out of area placements.
To monitor and evaluate clinical care and lead on the development of improved health care provision both locally and within the trust pathways development groups.
To ensure the provision of contemporary, person-centred and evidence based professional care.
To lead on maintaining safety and safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children within area of responsibility.
To ensure effective clinical risk assessment and management processes are followed.
To ensure the provision of contemporary, person-centred and evidence based professional care.
To enable independence and inclusion of people who have complex needs, enabling and empowering them to access local services and supporting them to overcome barriers

- diploma or above with demonstrable skills in PBS
- Recognised clinical teaching qualification or equivalent clinical mentoring and teaching experience
