Job description

Job responsibilities

Please note the job description for this post is pending approval from the Royal College of Psychiatrists and may be subject to change.

The appointed post holder would support initiatives within the EIP pathway, and there would be an expectation to attend some of the leadership meetings and to play an active role in our formulations, complex care sessions and CPA’s.

Clinical workload would focus on the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale population. However, there would be an expectation of a clinical advisory function to the wider locality as required. The post holder is expected to take part in and provide insight and direction into complex case work; contributing to the overarching formulation of patient care and planning within the scope of Multi-disciplinary Team approach. The post holder would be expected to offer senior advice and support in the assessment, formulation, diagnosis and management of presenting conditions.

There are workers within the team who take a role in physical health monitoring and they would require support with the checking and following up of these results.

The post holder would be supported by a dedicated nurse prescriber within the team. The nurse prescriber will already have a designated supervisor but may choose to review this with the post holder. The post holder is expected to support the team and this prescriber to make safe and effective prescribing decisions on the cases presenting.

The direct clinical workload centres on one new patient clinic a week (2-3 patients) and one follow up clinic a week (6 patients). The team currently have a caseload of 50 patients.
